About Phelps Hope, CMP

Phelps Hope, Vice President of Meetings and Expositions for the Kellen Company, has over 30 years of meetings, events and tradeshow management experience. He is responsible for the management of Kellen Meetings, the meetings and expositions division of the Kellen Company, which currently manages over 250 meetings, events and tradeshows globally each year. Kellen Meetings mission is to partner with client organizations to meet their strategic objectives for each event and the organization as a whole, specifically working to exceed expectations for event attendance, revenues, expenses, attendee and stakeholder ratings. Phelps has held key positions both in Australia and the United States with Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton and Loews Hotels, developing an in-depth understanding of business meetings and events. In 1993, he founded Aspen Productions, a meetings management firm, and in 1996 a destination management company, Absolutely Atlanta, both of which were known for the exceptional levels of service and expertise. Phelps is familiar with every nuance of the meetings, tradeshow and events production process, and puts the highest priority upon the delivery of unique creative solutions that exceed client expectations. He holds the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) designation, an indication of both his experience level in the meetings industry and his dedication to excellence. He is an active member of the Georgia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (GaMPI), a two term past-president of the Professional Convention Managers Association (PCMA) Southeast Chapter and currently serves on the PCMA Annual Meeting Program Committee and the Global Communities Task Force Chair. Phelps has served as a two term past-President of Skal International-Atlanta, and more recently served on the Board of the National Committee for the USA of Skal International, an executives-level hospitality and travel industry organization. He currently serves on the CMP Board, helping to advance the strength and credibility of the CMP designation within the hospitality and meetings industry.
